About MOV.AI

MOV.AI disrupts Autonomous Mobile Robot development with a Robotics Engine Platform that contains everything needed to quickly build, deploy and operate intelligent robots.

Karol Kunat of the Polish tech mag Tabletowo, made an important point in his article. ed out that Android is so powerful sine it is the most popular  and (almost) open operating system for smartphones. He went on the state that robots need something similar. However, a lot of systems are currently proprietary, and therefore expensive since buying licenses is needed.

MOV.AI is changing this by creating an ecosystem that fosters the development of robotics. The idea behind this is the unification of the market, similar to what has happened in the smartphones sector where are currently only two operating systems: Android and iOS. The same would stimulate the large-scale production of increasingly intelligent robots, based on the same principles. This in turn would have a positive impact on the development of robotics as such.

Mr. Kunat is not alone in his opinion. As an Asian journalist pointed out, the idea of separating hardware from software is not new. As early as 2013, Baidu launched its R&D program for “Driver Cars”, and in April 2017, Baidu proposed  open source of its unmanned platform to create “Android” in the field of unmanned vehicles.

Since artificial intelligence and robots are the next wave of Internet development, the separation of hardware and software is evident. This will create a lot of opportunities, and the robotic operating system will be a given for every major company.
